One person dead following motorcycle crash in Port Orange

PORT ORANGE, FL (FNB) – A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle is under investigation in Port Orange, according to police.

Officers with the Port Orange Police Department responded around 8:55 p.m. Saturday to the intersection of Ridgewood Avenue and Kirbly Place following reports of a collision.

Authorities said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured and remained at the scene following the crash.

Police have not released the identities of those involved as the investigation continues.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or may have additional information to contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Officer Garay at 386-506-5838.

The incident remains under investigation.
