ORLANDO, FL (FNB) – Universal Orlando Resort has unveiled new details for its 35th annual Halloween Horror Nights event, including this year’s theme and a preview of one of the haunted attractions.

The event, known as HHN 35, will feature a theme titled “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” transforming Universal Studios Florida into what officials describe as a “fear-fueled carnival” with haunted houses, scare zones and live entertainment.

This year’s event will prominently feature two returning characters — Jack the Clown and his rival, Dr. Oddfellow — who will serve as central figures throughout the experience. The two icons will act as ringleaders for the anniversary event, which is expected to highlight their ongoing rivalry.

Universal also announced one of the original haunted houses for 2026, titled “Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.” The attraction will explore the backstory of the two characters, focusing on their conflict and eventual alliance as they seek power.

Event organizers noted that some elements, including clown-themed horror, may be unsettling for guests with coulrophobia, or a fear of clowns.

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 will take place on select nights from Aug. 28 through Nov. 1 at Universal Studios Florida. Additional details about attractions and experiences are expected to be released in the coming months.

More information about the event is available on Universal Orlando Resort’s website.
