ORLANDO, FL (FNB) – A Kissimmee man has claimed a $1 million prize from a Florida Lottery Scratch-Off game after purchasing a winning ticket in Orlando.
According to the Florida Lottery, Rafael Arciniegas Rosario, 59, claimed the prize at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee on Dec. 10. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000.
Lottery officials said Arciniegas Rosario purchased the $20 winning ticket from a RaceTrac store located at 6803 Conway Road in Orlando.
The prize came from the GOLD RUSH LEGACY Scratch-Off game, which launched in April 2024. The game features four top prizes of $10 million and 20 prizes of $1 million, along with more than $894 million in total cash prizes. The overall odds of winning in the game are approximately 1 in 2.97.
Scratch-Off games make up a significant portion of Florida Lottery sales, accounting for about 74 percent of ticket sales during the 2024–2025 fiscal year. Since the Lottery’s inception, Scratch-Off games have awarded more than $70.8 billion in prizes and created more than 2,475 millionaires.
The Florida Lottery has also contributed more than $20.98 billion to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, which supports public education initiatives. Overall, the Lottery has generated more than $50 billion for education and helped send more than one million students to Florida colleges, universities, and technical schools through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
