OCALA, FL (FNB) – A Marion County woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a stabbing that left an 83-year-old victim seriously injured, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, when deputies responded to a reported stabbing at a residence in Ocala. Investigators allege that Jennifer Michelle Gill, 45, attacked the victim inside the home before fleeing the scene.
Deputies located Gill approximately 1.5 miles from the residence and took her into custody without incident. Major Crimes detectives, including Detective Ryan Stith, responded to continue the investigation.
According to investigators, Gill entered the kitchen where the victim was seated at a table, grabbed a knife, and sprayed the victim in the eyes with soapy water before repeatedly stabbing them.
Authorities said Gill later admitted to the attack during an interview and allegedly stated that she wished the knives had been sharper.
The condition of the victim has not been publicly released.
Gill was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she is being held without bond on a charge of attempted murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
